Trabajar

Peru and New Hope is absolutely wonderful! My job here is to be in charge of education for all the kids who live at the home. That is about 40 kids in 3 different schools. I get their school supplies and uniforms, make sure they get to school and meet with their teachers for parent teacher conferences as well as when things aren't going so well. Basically, I am a mom for the kids in relation to their schools. They all start school on March 3rd. Please be praying for them as they head off for their first week as well as be praying for the funds to come in for the needed uniforms and school supplies. 5 of the kids have to go to a private school. They are very behind in school due to their history and this school will allow them to accomplish 2 grades in 1 year! This school is quite expensive, but the Lord has provided thus far. Be praying for continued blessing!

This picture is all the school supplies I had to buy for these kids to start the year. The schools do not provide a list, so I had the opportunity to figure out (in spanish) approximately what they would need and then I had the opportunity to go to the markets to bargain for the best deals (in spanish)! Getting a taxi driver to let us haul all this stuff was a bit crazy as well. Abel and Elizabeth were with me and they had to sit on top of the notebooks in the back, but it all worked out and we got a really great price! All you parents who are reading this and get stressed for your 2-3 kids back to school shopping, please think of me next time school starts and you get to go to wal-mart and get a list of supplies and fight the crowd.
